Beginning in 2024, domestic and foreign reporting companies will need to report information on their beneficial owners to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) unless they qualify for an exemption. Applicable due dates will depend on the company formation/registration date. In this informative presentation, Melanie Lauridsen, AICPA Vice President of the Tax Policy & Advocacy team in Washington, D.C. will review highlights/risks of the expanded mandatory BOI rules that went into effect on January 1, 2024, and discuss recent FinCEN guidance for preparers and beneficial owners including reference materials. This course is intended for those who already have a basic understanding of the FinCen BOI reporting rules.
