This webinar, based on Larry’s book “Reducing the Risk of Black Swans, 2018 Edition,” will explain how investors can build more efficient portfolios using the academic research on asset pricing models that have uncovered unique sources of risk and return beyond the CAPM’s market beta. By adding unique sources of risk that have demonstrated premiums that have been persistent, pervasive, robust, implementable, and have intuitive explanations for why the premiums should persist, and lowering the exposure to market beta, investors can create more of a risk parity portfolio. Such a portfolio has historical delivered superior risk-adjusted returns while also reducing crash risk. In addition, the SEC’s approval of interval funds has allowed the investment industry to develop new products that allow individual investors to access other unique sources of risk that improve portfolio efficiency.
